Dennis Lota to be buried in Joburg

Dennis Lota will be laid to rest at West Park Cemetery in Johannesburg.

Dennis Lota will be laid to rest at West Park Cemetery in Johannesburg.

Lota – popularly known as 'Chesa Mpama' – passed away on February 4 at Helen Joseph Hospital after a short illness.

The burial proceedings will start off at the Harvest Time Dome in Claremont (West of Johannesburg) at 09h00, today,  before we then proceed to the burial at West Park just before midday

At the time of his death, Lota (40) was assistant coach at Moroka Swallows following a long-stretching PSL playing career in South Africa that began in 1998 when he arrived at Orlando Pirates from his homeland.

He won 79 caps for Chipolopolo and also played for Witbank Aces, Dangerous Aces, City Sharks, Moroka Swallows, Raiders, FC AK and AmaZulu during his playing career in South Africa, which had become his adopted home.

Lota – born on November 8, 1973 in Kitwe, Zambia – is survived by his wife and kids (three girls and one boy).
