Disclosing your sexual orientation to your employer

You don't have to disclose your sexual orientation.

You don't have to disclose your sexual orientation at any point during the application process so don't feel like you need to include it in your CV, covering letter or application form. If you are disclosing during the application process, ask yourself why and whether it's relevant to the job. For example, you may want to say you were chair of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual (LGBT) student society to show you have leadership and organisational skills, rather than just to mention your sexual orientation. -targetjobs
