"Many from LaSalle University continue to use PhD titles because the normal course of work was done” - Pheko

South African ambassador to Japan, businesswoman, political analyst and gender activist Mohau Pheko has once again been caught in scandal as it has been revealed that she falsified her qualifications. The dignitary lists a PhD in international relations from LaSalle University in Louisiana, US,  among her academic accolades. It has emerged that the said university did not exist when Pheko says she graduated from it and has been wrapped up in its own scandal. According to the Financial Mail, it was shut down in 1996 after it was found that the institution sold  degrees and other academic qualifications via the Internet “for the bargain price of US$2 000 to $3 700."

Pheko's response to questions of her false qualifications was that “many from LaSalle University continue to use PhD titles because the normal course of work was done”.
