The latest figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) for the last quarter of 2011 have just come in and DRUM is on top! With its circulation now ahead of its closest competitors, it is now officially the biggest-selling magazine aimed at the black market in South Africa and the third largest magazine in South Africa after Huisgenoot and YOU.

DRUM’s circulation rose by 7% in total, jumping from 129 317 in 2010, to 138 479 at the end of 2011.

“We are extremely proud. I, together with the rest of the DRUM team, have been going the extra mile to ensure we provide only what readers want and it’s great to see our hard work paying off.

We are planning even bigger things for this year, so watch this space,” says DRUM editor Makhosazana Zwane-Siguqa.

2011 was an exciting year for DRUM. Not only did its circulation climb to the top in the black market, it was also this iconic magazine’s 60th birthday.

In November 2011 Khosi filmed her TV acting debut as a guest on the TV soap The Wild and 2012 kicked off with exclusive coverage of the much-talked-about surprise wedding of actress Sophie Ndaba to Reverend Keith Harrington.

“Well done DRUM! It’s a proud moment for us all. It will only get better from here,” says Izelle Venter, Editor-in-Chief of Huisgenoot, YOU and DRUM.

Don’t miss the latest issue of DRUM on shelves this week – the cover star Uyanda Mbuli talks exclusively to DRUM following the announcement of the end of her ten year marriage.
