Comedy. 2010. 89 min. with Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence and Zoe Saldana. Director: Neil LaBute. 13l.

Aaron (Rock) is a tax accountant and aspiring author who’s preparing his father’s funeral amid chaos and distractions from his eccentric family. His younger brother Ryan (Lawrence), a novelist, arrives but doesn’t lift a finger to help.

And his wife is only interested in moving out of her mother- in-law’s house and starting a family. Meanwhile Aaron’s cousin Elaine’s (Saldana) nervous boyfriend accidentally downs a hallucinogen, and an uninvited guest blackmails the brothers with an explosive family secret...

This remake of a 2007 British movie features a star-studded cast and will have you in stitches. James Marsden steals the show as he loses his mind for a few hours and causes mayhem. The plot has a few holes but it’s nevertheless fun and it helps that the actors are so watchable. Bonus: commentary, featurette, deleted and extended scenes.
