Animation. 2010. 98 min.

Voices: Tom Hhanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack.

Director: Lee Unkrich.

The story takes up where Andy, all grown-up and about to leave for university, has to decide whether to give away his toy collection – including the much-loved Woody, Buzz, Mr Potato Head, Jessie and the others – or store them in the attic. Things take an unexpected turn when the collection is mistakenly delivered to a day-care centre and Woody has to try to convince the rest of the toys they haven’t been abandoned and find a way for them to escape. But to do so, they’ll have to face two mean, giant toys – a baby doll and a strawberry- scented teddy bear.

The third film is the perfect ending to the much-loved Toy Story series that broke new ground in animation when the first one was released in 1995. There’s drama, comedy and action and it’s a definite must-watch for young and old. Bonus: lots, including a featurette about Buzz Lightyear’s mission logs when he was a Nasa astronaut.
