Guess who’s supporting Carly Rae Jepson on her SA tour?

Both are known for creating uplifting, infectiously happy music. One, a Grammy award-nominated Canadian recording artist, the other, an unconventional local folk singer, known for incorporating numerous instruments into his blend of folk and electronica.

Hilltop Live, 947 and MTV are excited to announce the first artist joining the bill for Carly Rae Jepsen live in South Africa – Matthew Mole.

Cape Town-born 23-year-old Matthew made history as the first South African artist to debut on iTunes at number 1 for his debut album, The Home We Built. Both Matthew and Carly Rae became household names through music competitions, with Matthew winning the annual Get Out Of The Garage competition. Matthew blends acoustic guitar, banjos, drums, the ukulele and umpteen percussion instruments into tracks like Chapel , Take Yours, I’ll Take Mine and The Wedding Song. Like Carly Rae, Matthew has been nominated for numerous awards including Best Pop Album and Best Male Artist Of The Year at the South African Music Awards.

Matthew will join Grammy award-nominated, multiplatinum-selling recording artist Carly Rae for both legs of her South African tour. #CarlyRaeSA
