Bodies of Ebola victims lie abandoned in streets of Sierra Leone after burial teams go on strike over backlog in hazard pay. Sierra Leone's deputy health minister Madina Rahman said the dispute had been over a week-long backlog of hazard pay, which had been deposited in the bank but hadn't been given to workers.

Meanwhile the Ebola epidemic could deal a $32.6 billion blow to the West African economy over the next year if officials cannot get it under control, the World Bank warned Wednesday.

"The economic impacts of Ebola are already very serious in the core three countries -- particularly Liberia and Sierra Leone -- and could become catastrophic under a slow-containment, high-Ebola scenario," the Bank said in a new report.
