Khaya Mthethwa's media launch for his new gospel album, The Uprising, went off with a bang.

Khaya even performed a few tracks from the album.

Held at 3 Sixty Degrees Liquid Lounge in Monte Casino, north of Jozi, the launch was attended by members of the press from across the board.

Here are five facts you need to know about Khaya’s Gospel new gospel album, The Uprising:

1. Apart from pre-production, the album took two months record.

2. Khaya has rustled hotshots such as Bheki Mthembu and Siyanqoba Mthethwa (from Joyous Celebration) to work on production.

3. The album was mixed by Crighton Goodwill. The legendary Ernie Smith is one of the recording engineers. As well as singing Khaya’s involved in the production of the album.

4. The album can be downloaded from Itunes. Hard copies are available at Boxer stores. Khaya and Universal have partnered with Boxer on a deal that will see the album getting distribution around the country.

5. Word is God is the executive producer of the album.
