Popular singer Tresor scooped up some of the most important nominations at the 22nd South African Music Awards (Samas).

The Never Let Me Go hit-maker was nominated four times for his debut album, VII, making one of the biggest Sama nominees. Tresor was nominated for Album of The Year, Best Pop Album Best Remix and Best Newcomer.

“I’m extremely excited and humbled by my four nominations. I never dreamt I would get this many nominations in such prominent categories for my first album,” Tresor says.

The singer is also a composer who has written songs for Zahara.

According to his manager Raphael Benza, it’s not often that artist gets to be nominated for the Album of The Year category on his first album. “We at Vth Season are very proud of Tresor and the success he has had with VII. It’s always great to partner with an artist whose work ethic matches their talent,” says Benza.

Tresor is signed under an international record label Ultra Records, which distributes his music to North and South America, Canada and the United Kingdom to name just a few.
