There was no foul play, says soapie awards judge.

The nominees for the 2nd installment of the Royalty Soapie Awards were announced lastnight. One of Mzansi's most talked about soapie Generations the legacy was snubbed.

The show was at the center stage of drama from August 2014, after 16 striking actors were fired. Royalty Soapie Awards founder Winnie Ntshaba was one of the fired actors.

Is this payback from Winnie to the show that fired her? Not at all, says one of the awards judges. "The nominees for all the categories came at a time when Generations was off air. That's why we couldn't judge them on most categories. They did make it to the Most Popular Soapie category," said the judge on condition of anonymity.

Winnie was not available for comment.

The awards take place in Durban on 28 March.
