The show seems to have become edgier and the numbers are speaking.

After the famous 16 actors who were fired from SABC 1 soapie Generations left, the show's ratings were in trouble.

Three months later, the soapie came back rebranded with a new cast and storyline and the name, Generations The Legacy. Its first episode garnered over 10 million viewers but soon after the numbers began to dwindle.

The once most watched show in Mzansi was now coming second to new soapie Uzalo. During the drama with the actors, Generations creator and executive producer Mfundi Vundla explained that he expected that there would be knocks in ratings but with time they would reclaim the number one spot. This past May the soapie did just that! Generations The Legacy was the most watched show with over 8 million viewers with Uzalo taking second place with just above 7 million viewers.

The show has introduced a lot interesting storylines including the Polyandry, witchcraft and crossdressing ones, which caused a lot of social media commotion as well as viewership.

The show seems to have become edgier and the numbers are speaking.

Here's a job well done to the team!
