In a change-up of South Africa's popular soapie's cast list, some actors have been sacked.

An article by Times Live reports that Denise Zimba who played the role of Mary, Asanda Foji who played the role of Mazwi Moroka's wife - Simphiwe.

The report also adds that a few people's contracts have been not been renewed so there will be more actors who will no longer star in the soapie.

The anonymous source quoted by the news site says that the axing is a result of the show's producers' belief that the actors don't add anything to the show.

The publicist of the show could not be pulled for comment though, only saying,

"We can't confirm or deny the allegations but the official statement will be on the Generations website soon," Gaaratwe Mokhethi told the website.

A statement released on the soapie's website later today confirms Zimba and Foji's exit from the show.

There has been no word of the contracts that have not been renewed.

But allegations that Ivy Nkutha who plays Gog' Flo and Lebohang Mthunzi who plays Angela have been given the boot have been refuted on the website.

"We would like to take this opportunity to refute the claims that Lebohang Mthunzi who plays the role of Angela and Ivy Nkutha who plays the role of Gog' Flo are leaving the show. The allegations are false and these two actresses will still be a part of upcoming season of Generations 25," the statement on the site reads.
