Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba and his new wife Nomachule have donated R70 000 to two children homes in Mandini, on the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal.

The money came from the couple’s wedding gifts

Sbongile Ntsetha, the founder of Nqolobane Children Home and Abethu Home Care Centre, cried tears of joy when the couple surprised them with gifs and money.

"I’m lost for words. It’s the first time someone has done this for us. I've been helping these kids from my own pocket since I started in 2008. Today I'm crying tears of joy and thanking the Minister and his wife for having big hearts," says an emotional Ntsetha.

Gigaba married IT executive Nomachule at the Durban Botanic Gardens last August. He says it has always been in his family’s hearts to help those in need.

“In our wedding we didn't wants gifts from our friends, but we asked them to bring something that we can donate to those less fortunate. We are very happy for this day as it went well," said Gigaba.

Sponsors included SAB, Unilever and other individuals.
