"I am the next Zola 7, without the drama. I want to change lives and make a positive impact in society."

Kwaito musician Thabo Thuba also known as Kaptain says he sees himself as the next Zola 7

"My dream to change lives through music and community work," said Kaptain.

Coming from Matatiele in the Eastern Cape, Kaptain says he is nothing like other kwaito musicians”. I have never been in contact with alcohol, cigarettes or drugs, I am is happily married and I am a proud born again Christian making Kwaito music,” he said.

Before leaving Matatiele to pursue his music dream in the city of Johannesburg, Kaptain had been teaching music.

“I have a degree in Music Teaching from the University of Transkei. I am also currently teaching music at Phulusho Secondary School in Alexander Township Johannesburg because I am passionate about young people."

Kaptain said being a musician comes with a big responsibility and young people are desperate for role models.

“I am the next Zola 7, without the drama. I want to change lives and make a positive impact in society,” says Kaptain.

Kaptain’s single ‘Shelela’ is currently playlisted in radio stations around the country.
