In stark contrast to President Jacob Zuma, Economic Freedom Fighters leader, Julius Malema, said he loved South Africa more than he loved the EFF.

"I love South Africa more than I love any party. More than I love the EFF," he told a community meeting in Meadowlands on Thursday.

Last year Zuma caused a stir when he said he loved the ANC more than he loved the country.

Malema said he was not fighting anyone in the ANC but rather fighting for the Constitution.

"They say Malema was kicked out, that is why he is fighting ANC. I'm not fighting anyone, I'm fighting for the Constitution," he said.

Malema said no one should undermine the EFF.

"We are not going to allow them to turn South Africa into another failed African state. You should never undermine the EFF. Look at the Guptas, they are gone," he said.

Malema warned residents that allowing Zuma to defy the Constitution would result in grave consequences.

"If [we] allow them to destroy the Constitution, they will rape you, they will rape your kids. Police will have no laws," he said.

Malema expressed his love for Meadowlands residents. ?He said he would provide buses to take them to the EFF's manifesto launch on April 30.
