Mistaken for a criminal on the run, Khuli Chana survived being shot at multiple times. This is his story.

HIS recent brush with death has left the hip-hop star battered and bruised, but his bright spirit remains undimmed after he was caught in the middle of a police stakeout.

DRUM spoke to award-winning rap artist Khuli Chana less than a week after his traumatic shooting and the soft-spoken muso tells us exactly what happened on that scary night.

We meet with Khuli (real name Khulani Morule) at the Protea Hotel in Midrand, where he’s closely guarded by his management and publicity team.

Khuli is seated in an armchair in the bedroom, neatly dressed in a dark-blue suit with a white shirt and no tie.

A dark sling supports the two injured fingers on his right hand.

They have been bandaged together and he hopes to have the stitches taken out soon.
