Lungisa Xhamela from Idols Season 11 tells us about his new single and shares his plans for 2017.

Q: Congratulations. Tell us about your new single? LUNGISA: The single is called Lobola and it was recorded last year after I took a long break from music to shuffle some things in my life, such as my production company Lungisa Media. And this was my first single to be released by my production company. It’s a song you can jam to since it talks about love. I always write about love, even though it is tough for some people to get love, but I’d say, 'Ekunyamezeleni kukhona umvuzo." (in isiXhosa it means ‘After a long suffering there is great reward’). Q: Tell us about the people you were working with and what it was like? LUNGISA: I worked with House Duo. I got a call from Mr. Luu and MSK they were like “yeah man, we want to do a single with you.” I told them that I want something that has vibe. Putting it together in studio was organic, we did this song in one day and it was epic and magical. I feel like this is a huge hit. I worked with them because they are smart people - they are commercial and musical – while, on the other hand, I am the soulful house artist. Q: Ok.  So tell us about Idols. What was it like being there? LUNGISA: Idols was really  great. I went there to get exposure because I was known in Cape Town and I wanted South Africa to know me. Now they know my music as well as that I'm a writer, composer and producer. Q: When should we expect your first album? LUNGISA: Well the album will be out by the end of this year.  I’m still planning the launch and what I can say is that it will be something that you haven’t seen or heard in South Africa before. Q: What are your plans for the year? Lungisa: My plans this year include releasing the next single by April. People should expect a new genre and sound. I want also to focus on acting and my clothing label called ClassiQman that I'll launch in May.
