Radio and television personality Linda Sibiya appeared in court for fraud allegations but maintains that he is innocent.

Radio host Linda Sibiya appeared in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Unit court in Johannesburg yesterday for fraud allegations.

He and his co-accused, Lwazi Thathakahle, have been accused of swindling Edcon out of R1.8 million rand for an event meant to celebrate and honour Ukhozi FM employees but the event never came to be.

The Vuma FM breakfast show host has revealed to DRUM that he had indeed appeared in court.

"The matter is in court for further investigation. It's not a new thing because I was told about such allegations last year, so I will wait for the state to furnish my legal team with a statement so that I can respond to the allegations," he commented.

Sibiya is confident that he is completely innocent.

"I still maintain that I'm not guilty and the truth will come up," he said. "It's not over until I win!" Sibiya seems to have left the matter to a higher power.

Sibiya and Thathakahle were granted bail and will appear again in court at a later stage.
