"We are just trying to educate the people on road safety."

Alongside crowd-pleasers such as Sipho Makhabane and Sechaba Pali, multi-award-winning gospel crooner Israel Mosehla is one of the artists on the bill for the Operation Duty Calls and Festive Arrive Alive event hosted by the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management and North West Provincial Government.

“It’s a privilege performing alongside the singers in question. We are just trying to educate the people on road safety. People should take it easy on the road,” said Israel.

The Acting Director of Communications at Department of Community Safety and Transport Management North West Provincial Government, Shuping Daddy Sebolecwe, said, “The key message we want to spread is that as users of the road, we should obey the rules of the road.

As North West Provincial Government and national government, we are a signatory to the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020. As such, the country has committed itself at an international level to reducing fatalities by 50 % by the year 2020. We have deployed all our traffic officers on our roads to see to it that our people comply with the rules of the road.”
