Its Bonang vs Euphonik

Every Friday night millions of adoring fans watch her as she dazzles them with her charm. Her sparkling personality and trendy dress sense have elevated her to cult status.

It’s this sense of style Bonang Matheba (25) displays as she walks into the Randburg Magistrate’s Court for the second instalment of her court case against ex-boyfriend Themba Nkosi (28), better known as Euphonik, who at the end of May allegedly assaulted her after a heated argument.

She later obtained a protection order against him. Bonang looks impatient and eager to conclude this unpleasant matter but nothing comes from this second court appearance.

When Queen B, as she likes to call herself, and her legal team walk out of the courtroom, she rushes out and doesn’t make eye contact with anyone. Dressed in a tan trench coat, high heels and sunglasses, Bonang is instantly recognisable and there are whispers from all corners of the court building.

Later 5FM disc jockey Euphonik emerges with his legal team in tow. Worry is written all over his face as his lawyers advise him to arrive at court early the next morning for his assault case.

The next day, as he waits to hear his fate, Euphonik looks rather relaxed on the bench of court 9 as he plays games on his iPad. After a short while, Magistrate Vincent Pienaar calls him up to the stand but the case is postponed to 24 July.

The investigating officer wants to gather more evidence, including the J88 form which details the nature of injuries, and speak to more witnesses.

The drama playing itself out in court however is nothing compared to the allegations made by the two stars against each other following the alleged assault.

Both Bonang and Euphonik have come out with guns blazing, accusing each other of cheating, repeated assaults and “wanting to destroy the other party’s brand and image”.

At the top of these, according to at least four sources, is that Bonang terminated her pregnancy last year without euphonik’s knowledge, which prompted him to believe she had been unfaithful.
