How does it feel to be back?

It’s like I never left. I honestly feel like we left on a Friday, had a weekend, and now we’re back. I’m happy to be back with the Naked DJ, JJ and Thato – we’re like a family.

Your music was on point today and you were trending on Twitter. Did you anticipate that?

We had a meeting over the weekend where we carefully planned the music for today. It’s  our second-coming and we needed to own the space. And we’re grateful that the listeners agreed.

Lira’s song, Feel Good, was your last song ...

Yes, because that is exactly how I feel right now. I feel good, happy and energised. We played a lot of local music today and our listeners loved it. We will definitely be doing more of that.

What can people expect from the show onwards?

Listeners can expect fresh music and exciting content. It’s still going to be all about glitz and glam, and showing the metropolitan part of life. We’ll have celebrity Wednesdays, fashion tips, travel and much more. It will be like friends sitting around the table and having a conversation. I want the listeners to resonate with what we give them and fall in love with us all over again. I also want people to forget about their problems and just enjoy when they listen to the Front Row!

Spending Women’s Day weekend in Soweto, how was that?

Amazing! My favourite holidays are Women’s Day and Mother’s Day, because they honour women. I got to spend four hours (it was meant to be one hour initially) at Maponya Mall with Revlon as I bonded with some amazing women. There impromptu fashion and style tips that I gave and we took some beautiful pictures. I’m grateful to everyone who came out.

You play “2 On” by Tinashe every day on the Front Row ...

I love that song. I fell in love with it and it has become our main tune on the show.

What other songs do you love at the moment?

Beyonce and Nicki Minaj’s remix to Flawless, and Bucie’s Kumnandi. I also just downloaded some songs from Danity Kane, and listen to anything by Angie Stone and K.O’s Cara Cara.

Complete the following sentence. Bonang is …

Incredibly happy, hardworking, more inspired and feels like I haven’t reached my peak yet.
