Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs captain Itumeleng Khune has paid a special tribute to the slain soccer star, Senzo Meyiwa in Umlazi in Durban.

"When you see me play, I would like you to see a reflection of Senzo in me," Itu told Meyiwa’s parents before bursting into tears.

“Senzo’s dream was to be like Ike Casilas. He wanted Casilas's jersey when we played Spain," recalls Itu.

"The world is hurting. I'm Tswana but he learned Tswana because of our connection and so did I learn isiZulu," said Itu.

Meanwhile Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba, has urged all South Africans to stop speculating around the death of Senzo.

Mashaba was addressing the media waiting at the tent erected outside the house.

He said this after a short prayer with the family which the media was barred from attending.

Shakes however, told the media that Senzo's death is a national crisis.

"We are hurt."

He also revealed that people had doubts when Senzo was appointed the new captain of the national team.

"People had doubts if we should make Senzo captain or not."
