Johannesburg to host One Young World 2013

Johannesburg is working hard preparing for One Young World leadership summit 2013.

Described by CNN as, ‘The Junior Davos’, One Young World is an annual event and non-profit global platform for young people of all nations, sectors and walks of life who have the potential to become leaders of governments and businesses tomorrow.

The summit will bring together 1 500 exceptional young people from around the world.

The organising committee has already organised an impressive number of mentors for the event. With Desmond Tutu, Virgins’ Richard Branson and former U.N secretary Kofi Annan forming part of the list.

““The City of Johannesburg is proud to be associated with a dynamic global organisation such as One Young World which, in its short existence, has become a tremendous force for good and a great catalyst to communicate the aspirations of the younger generation to international leaders,” said Mayor Parks Tau speaking at the press conference.

This year, One Young World 2012 summit will be held in Pittsburgh, USA between 19th and 21st October 2012 with over 40 South Africans are expected to attend
