Bafana Bafana coach, Shakes Mashaba visited the family of the slain soccer star, Senzo Meyiwa Meyiwa in Umlazi in Durban.

Mashaba was joined SAFA president Danny Jordaan, Sport Minister Fikile Mbalula, Orlando Pirates captain, Lucky Lekgwati and Kaizer Chiefs captain, Itumeleng Khune.

Mashaba said what happened to Senzo was unfortunate.

He said the murder of Meyiwa came at a time when he was climbing the highest ranks.

"Let's put everything in God's hands."

He also revealed that they've received calls from the media asking if they have Senzo's replacement.

"We don't know what will happen. To win those matches, it was all Senzo." He said Senzo has planted a seed and the nation should take where he left off.

"We must pick up the spear and run with it."
