The defence's closing arguments in the murder trial of musician Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye and co-accused Themba Tshabalala were postponed on Tuesday.

Proceedings in the Protea Magistrate's Court would resume on Wednesday.

Ike Motloung, for Maarohanye, completed his closing arguments late on Monday.

Mlungiseleli Sovithi, for Tshabalala, would present his arguments on Wednesday.

Motloung argued that Maarohanye's trial had been unfair and prejudicial. He questioned the testimony of most of the State witnesses.

Maarohanye and Tshabalala are facing charges of murder, reckless or negligent driving, and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

The two were allegedly drag-racing on Mdlalose Street, Protea north, in March 2010, when they crashed into a group of school children.

Four boys were killed and two seriously injured.
