Kaizer Chiefs' Tefu Mashamaite's big night

Kaizer Chiefs defender and skipper Tefu Mashamaite had a big night at the the PSL awards that were held on May 17 at the Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

The Premier Soccer League has come to an end and in order to celebrate the season that was, an award ceremony for 2014/2015 season was held on Sunday in Sandton. Kaizer Chiefs defender and skipper Tefu Mashamaite had a big night at the the PSL awards that were held on May 17 at the Convention Centre in Johannesburg. Mahamaite won the coveted Footballer of the Season which came with a cool R250 000 cash prize. The captain of Amakhosi also won the ABSA Premiership Player’s Player of the Season and the ABSA Premiership Defender of the Season which brought his tally to three  awards from the four categories he was nominated in. The Limpopo native walked away with a total of R450 000 on the night. Another big winner of the night included Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teko Modise who walked away with the ABSA Premiership Midfielder of the Season and the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament prizes, which totalled R200 000. Stuart Baxter was named coach of the season while Moneeb 'Slimkat' Joseph was named the goalkeeper of the season. SuperSport United’s Dove Wome won R200 000 after being named the Telkom Knockout Player of the Tournament and Kaizer Chief’s George Maluleka bagged a R80 000 cash prize for being the MTN8 Last Man Standing.
