Kelly Khumalo out on a R500 bail

The sisters, Kelly and Zandi, had been arrested at the Hillbrow police station following an incident that happened in late August.

Singer Kelly Khumalo and her sister Zandi who handed themselves over to police on Tuesday after allegedly assaulting the wife of Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa have been  released on a R500 bail each.

Kelly and Zandi will reappear in the Hillbrow Magistrate's Court on 31 October.

The sisters had been arrested at the Hillbrow police station following an incident that happened in late August.

According to a charge sheet in DRUM's possession, Kelly found Meyiwa chatting to his wife Mandisa on Empire Road near the M1 in Johannesburg.

She allegedly stopped her car and assaulted Mandisa, without provocation.

Kelly and Zandi also pulled Mandisa by her hair, hit her with car keys and kicked her.

The Khumalo sisters also face charges of reckless driving and malicious damage to property in addition to the assault charge.
