\Bafana could be without captain and goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune for their CHAN group game against Nigeria, after he suffered an ankle injury.

Bafana coach Gordon Igesund said that he was waiting on advice from the Bafana medical staff before coming to a decision whether or not to include him for their final group game against Nigeria.

"Itu got a knock on his ankle in our last game (against Mali), and his ankle is quite tender, we sent him for a scan and he has got a slight grade one ligament problem and the doctor told me it would be about three or four day before he recovers," Igesund said.

The final decision on whether to include Khune would be made on Saturday morning.

"Itumeleng will have to rest and we will decide tomorrow."

Igesund said he was hesitant to risk the player aggravating the injury.

"It is a risk. If he hurts it again he could be out for six to eight weeks and I certainly don't want that to happen, so some serious decisions need to be made in the next 24 hours." Igesund said.

"Itumeleng is so keen to play and it will be a big blow to us if we lose him."

Bafana will face Nigeria in their final group game on Sunday. (19:00 kick-off)
