Ever since King P (20) or Kgosi Prince Chauke as he is known by his parents, started producing his own music at the age of 14, the Soweto-based DJ has never backed down on music until the day Channel O finally provided his big break into the music industry.

DStv’s popular music TV network Channel O crowned  the winner of its “Think You Can Do Better?” DJ search competition after five days of sifting through more than 5 000 entries.

“I am unlike other musicians who always have something to fall back on because this is the only career I want to follow and I couldn’t hope for a better start,” he said

“Music is my passion so winning this competition is amazing.”

As part of his prize, Channel O will finance the production of his “Music is Calling” music video which is set for a continent-wide debut on 8 December.

In addition, his track will be featured on the Channel O – Think You Can Do Better CD and DVD compilation, which will be released on 9 December as well as be available for download on OMusic.com.

The CD, to be remixed by DJ Qness, will feature “Music Is Calling” along with 13 other house tracks like Set Me Free by Black Motion, Domination by Euphonik, These Tears by Spirit Chaser, Settle For Less by Liquideep, Be With You by DJ Qness plus many more
