KZN Premier hands over homes

Finally a decent house to call it home.

KwaZulu-Natal Premier  Senzo Mchunu has handed Smangele Mdakane a home.

Mdakane is one of 500 Ngolokodo, Nquthu residents to receive houses built by the Department of Human Settlement.

All 500 houses costing over R36m have been completed and occupied. Mchunu and provincial Human Settlement MEC Ravi Pillay officially handed over houses to the recipients.

Pillay said it is always a pleasure to hand houses over to communities previously in need.

“Houses are an asset that you need to look after and an inheritance for your children and grandchildren,” he said.

Mchunu,said since 2009 they have built more than 85 733 housing units with urban and rural spread.
