Learning to find their voices

Many township children don’t reach their full potential because they grow up in poor conditions. These therapists are trying to change that. It’s not unusual to see toddlers talking to their dolls, discussing what worries and interests them. But here, in a special room in an educational childcare centre a stone’s throw from Alexandra Township, the children are being taught lessons that will improve the rest of their lives – and save them from a childhood ruined by alcoholism, abuse, crime and lack of love in their communities.
