Proving it's never too late for a white wedding, Vivian Boyack and Alice "Nonie" Dubes were married Sept. 6 after 72 years together, reports The Quad City Times.

The two women exchanged vows in front of a small group of family members and close friends.

Boyack, 91, and Dubes, 90, held hands during the intimate ceremony, during which Rev. Linda Hunsaker reportedly told the couple, “This is a celebration of something that should have happened a very long time ago.”

Friend Jerry Yeast told the Times: “I’ve known these two women all my life, and I can tell you, they are special. This is a very special day for all of us.”
