Actress Manaka Ranaka opens up about the fateful day she ran over a pedestrian, her love for her man and how she plans to change the lives of young girls.

Constantly living with the burden of knowing you’ve taken a life is fortunately something most of us don’t have to deal with.

But for Generations: The Legacy actress Manaka Ranaka, knowing she was responsible for ending the young life of Millicent Mbonani (18), a Grade 12 pupil at Leondale High School in Ekurhuleni, is a constantdaily struggle.

When we track Manaka down at her partner Thabo Monareng’s home in Auckland Park, Joburg, she’s willing to talk about the widely-reported accident in which she knocked down a pedestrian on the N3 in December last year. “The accident has become part of my life,” Manaka says frankly. “I’m not shy to talk about it.” But her pain is evident when she relatesthe events of the fateful day that changedher life forever, and ended Millicent’s.
