Lira joins Drum Beat concert line-up

Platinum selling South African artist Lira has been added to the A-list line up performing at the Toyota presents Drumbeat concert.

Platinum selling South African artist Lira has been added to the A-list line up performing at the Toyota presents Drumbeat concert.

Along with Lira show goers will be treated to 12 artists across three stages, for one night only, including Indwe, Nancy G, Jaziel Brothers, Reason, Josh Meck, The Soil, Ringo Madlingozi, Zakes Bantwini and Oliver Mtukudzi at Soweto Theatre on 10 May 2014.

Award winning song bird Lira has had a successful career from the day she came onto the music scene with her debut All My Love in 2003. The album not only earned her a name in the music industry, but also earned her accolades at the Metro FM Awards, South African Music Awards and the Channel O Reel Music Awards.

Her second album titled Feel Good led to multiple awards and received massive airplay in Italy. The international star has performed alongside artists such as Alicia Keys, Shakira, K’Naan and John Legend and performed for late president Nelson Mandela.

“Being able to add a talented artist such as Lira to our line-up brings a contemporary twist to our festival, and promises festival goers more diversity,” says Makhosazana Zwane-Siqua (Editor of DRUM Magazine) .
