SABC board chairperson, Professor Mbulaheni Maguvhe, blocks parliamentary inquiry set to determine if the board was fit to hold office.

It was all systems go today for five former non-executive SABC board members who were expected to appear before a Parliamentary ad hoc Committee on Tuesday for an inquiry into the fitness of the board to hold office.

However, the inquiry was postponed until Friday following an urgent interdict by SABC board chairperson, Professor Mbulaheni Maguvhe, to stop the inquiry.

The Auditor-General and the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa were expected to be present at the inquiry to submit their own reports on the SABC.

Parliamentary Ad-Hoc committee and the former SABC board members will have to wait and see if the interdict has been success before continuing with the planned inquiry.
