Make indulgent French toast fingers

Make use of lazy mornings and no school run to spoil yourself and your kids with these delectable French toast fingers from Checkers.

You’ll need:

  • 3 large free-range eggs
  • 1 tbsp. milk
  • Juice and zest of ½ an orange
  • Seasoning
  • 2 slices of farm-style or sourdough loaf
  • 30 g of butter
  • 6 slices of prosciutto ham
  • Maple syrup to serve

Do this:

Whisk the eggs, milk and orange juice together, add the orange zest, season well and pour over the bread to soak for a few min. Melt the butter in a pan over a medium heat until foamy. Add the egg-coated bread to the pan and cook for a few min. on each side until golden brown. Slice each piece into 3 fingers, wrap in prosciutto and drizzle with maple syrup.
