Tokollo said that, because Mandoza grew up without a father

After battling with cancer since 2015, kwaito star Mduduzi “Mandoza” Tshabalala was announced dead on Sunday.

Talking to SABC news about he death of his father Tokollo Tshabalala put on a brave face and shared some fond memories with the viewers. “All I can say is that my father died a proud man, he had everything he wanted in life,” Tokollo said.

, he wanted to make sure he was always there for his children. “All he ever wanted was to raise his children and before his last breath he said, “When I am gone one day I need you to be strong,” Tokollo said.

There to support Tokollo was Mandoza’s bodyguard, his manager Kevin Taopane as well as veteran poet Mzwakhe Mbuli.

Mbuli spoke about Mandoza’s contribution to the South African history saying, “Regardless of segregation and discrimination, the song Nkalakatha was loved by everyone.”
