That she’s a workaholic is obvious when she asks to change the venue of the shoot from a boutique hotel in Sandton to her Randburg office.

“I’m most comfortable here. A hotel is glamorous but also a little impersonal. I’m in my element at work,” 28-year-old Masechaba Lekalake tells us.

This beautiful Zambian-born media star is nothing if not driven. Not only has she presented TV shows, including One Day Leader, anchored eNews Africa and produced and anchored SABC Africa’s Afro Showbiz News and Into Africa, she’s also the CEO of her own company.

Through her production house, Masechaba Media, she dreams of changing the face of talk television with a new chat show called Masechaba.

“Not only will I host it, I also conceptualized and pitched it to various broadcasters. It’s already approved. I’m just waiting to sign the contract,” she beams. “The show will be about life, so the stories will dictate the setting. I want to go to the storytellers, not be studio bound.”
