Black Aces striker Thulasizwe Mbuyane, has been involved in a car crash in the East Rand on his way back home from his parents' home in Pretoria on Thursday.

According to the club's official website, Mbuyane was hospitalised for the incident which took place at around 17:00 on Thursday afternoon. Mbuyane, who scored the winning goal for Aces in their 1-0 win over his former club Orlando Pirates on Wednesday night, suffers from epilepsy, which resulted in the crash after he suffered a rare seizure. Aces’ Gordon Masondo spent the night with Mbuyane and confirmed that the doctors initial assessments were very positive, with the striker escaping any major injury. "We are glad to announce that Thulasizwe Mbuyane escaped the accident, which could have been worse considering that his car hit the tree and wall along the road on which he was travelling," said Masondo.

"He is fine and we are still waiting for further assessments from the doctors but indications are that he will be discharged today (Friday)," said Masondo.

"Just as a precautionary measure the player will be given a few days off to allow the doctors to further assesses him and advise on when he can return to training," said Aces chairperson, Mario Morfou.
