MEC's husband in R33 million tender

The tenders were awarded unfairly, says Sibusiso Makhanya.

KwaZulu-Natal local government MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube's husband is linked to a tender worth R33 Million. A company called Afriscan Construction, which is linked to Sibusiso Ncube, Nomusa's husband was given a tender to  install water pipes for a municipality. The same municipality has given another multi-million dollar tender to Sinosa Construction for water pipes. The company also belonged to Mr Ncube. Sibusiso Makhanya CEO of The Mhlathuze Water Board has said the awardig of these contracts were unfair, insisting an investigation should be done. On friday the 22nd of August, Mr Ncube released documents to the media stating that he had resigned as the director of Afriscan on November 29 2013, just three weeks before the R33 million  contract was awarded.
