Ban has no leg to stand on.

“Yoga pants should be illegal in public anyway,” American politician David Moore told the Associated Press.

Many women consider leggings, or yoga pants (if you’re American), to be “soft” and easy to wear and also form-fitting.

Others consider them a new fashion trend to behold, while some want to look athletic while running errands.

However, other politicians do not agree with David.

Members of the United States House Judiciary Committee voted unanimously to table House Bill 365.

The proposal would have expanded the definition of indecent exposure to include garments that give the appearance of a person's buttocks, genitals, pelvis or female nipple.

Later David did deviate from his initial point, saying, "The whole thing was an off-the-cuff remark in the hallway, and it just exploded."

The bill was drafted in response to a naked bicycling event in Missoula, America.

Several American schools have banned leggings, along with other tight-fitting women's clothing such as skinny jeans. Administrators cite the clothing as a distraction.

In 2014 denim sales fell 6 % as the growing trend of athleisure (athletic leisure) encouraged more women to reach for comfortable leggings instead of skinny jeans.
