Rating 3/5

Comedy. With Ema Stone , Amanda Bynes and Pen Badgley .

Director: Will Gluck. 13LS . Opens 14 January.

What’s it about?

A nerdy girl thinks she has to be promiscuous if she wants to be one of the in-crowd – with comic results when she falls in love with the wrong guy.

Who will enjoy it?

Any teen who‘s ever set foot in a cinema! Let your hair down with this laid-back, streetwise movie with its identifiable characters and cool attitude that celebrates the joys of being young. It also warns that you shouldn’t pretend to be someone else just to try to be “in”. Emma Stone is the find of the year – she lights up the silver screen with a rare talent that immediately connects with audiences. Enormously enjoyable!

Wait for DVD?

Either way. School life hasn’t been portrayed with so much energy, empathy and nostalgia in a teen film in a long time. A high-five must-see!
