Mpisanes to launch new soccer club

Flamboyant Durban businesswoman Shauwn Mpisane and her husband S'bu will officially launch their football club Royal Eagles this weekend.

Durban businessman  S'bu Mpisane and his wife Shauwn, will officially launch their football club Royal Eagles this weekend.

The official launch of the club is set to take place at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium and according to the invite sent to the media S'bu is the chairman of the club.

The head coach is Duncan Lechesa and the team manager is Richard Makhoba. The Mpisanes bought the Sivutsa Stars club, which was based in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.

It was not known how much they paid for the club, but according to the Soccer-Laduma website the deal had already been made in April.

The club would play in the national first division with its first match kicking off on August 22, against Baroko FC at Durban's Chatsworth Stadium, according to the Premier Soccer League fixture list.
