“We are beyond excited that Candice has taken this esteemed title, it is something that we have been working towards since she was crowned in October last year,” Joani Johnson, CEO of Mrs South Africa, says. “We always believed that Candice would bring the title home and it is an overwhelming moment for the entire team that she’s achieved her international goal.”

Candice stunned on the evening, wowing the audience in custom-made Werner Day eveningwear. She was also a firm favourite in the national costume category in a show-stopping number by Anel Botha, which was symbolic of South African wildlife and an exquisite headpiece by Riana Conradie.

“What an honour to be able to bring the Mrs World crown home to South Africa,” Candice said. “It has always been a dream of mine to win Mrs South Africa and to represent my country on the international stage, so to be bringing home the title is just the cherry on top of my achievements over the past year. I look forward to making South Africa and the continent as proud as Rolene Strauss did during her reign as Miss World.”

This is the first time Mrs South Africa has won the beauty contest.
