It will probably go down as 2012’s biggest gospel music festival when the crème de la crème of the gospel music industry erupt into songs of worship at the Coca Cola Park Stadium (Ellis Park) on 04 August.

Ukhozi FM, in conjunction with two gospel music inclined record labels Big Fish and EMI, will host the Ukhozi FM Gospel Music Festival in which some of SA’s top gospel acts are expect to perform for fans who could be packed to the stadium’s 61 000 capacity.

Some of the artists billed for performances include SA gospel music queen Rebecca Malope, Winnie Mashaba, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Sechaba, Sipho Makhabane and Israel Mosehla among others.

Part of Big Fish’s national tour, the festival is said to boast the biggest artist line-up and will be considered for continuity on an annual basis should the turn out prove worthwhile.

“Repeats are already happening. The national tour began in March last year in Bisho (Lesotho), and this year we’ll be back there again, before our Coca Cola Park debut. As things stand we’re all entirely committed to making the show an annual event,” said Makhabane, who is also a director at Big Fish.

According to a press statement from EMI, proceeds from the festival will go to the Arnie Williams Foundation for Abused Women and Children.

Ticket prices range between R80 and R130 and are now available from Computicket.

Gates will open at 8am with the show starting at 10am until 7pm.

Stand a chance to win one of five double tickets to the Ukhozi FM Gospel Music Festival.
