Sabile Kubheka, now 21 years old, qualified to be a doctor at the age of 20.

He is one of five children who were raised by a single mother who worked at Shoprite as a sales manager.

He graduated from the University of KwaZulu Natal this year in April.

"I definitely will not leave the country; I love South Africa. It is always important to give back to your country and your people," he told Rapport newspaper.

He studied for five years, after matriculating at the age of 15, to obtain his MBChB degree with a distinction in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Sabile is currently completing his first internship year at Grey's Hospital in Newcastle.

He hopes to eventually complete a masters degree and specialise in endocrinology.
