I am no stranger to silly accusations - Mzwakhe Mbuli

Yesterday social media went frantic over allegations of Mzwakhe Mbuli being a funeral scammer. The musicians came against the accusations made against him by Thabiso Mosia on twitter.

Early on the 12th of July Thabiso posted a series of tweets where he accused Mbuli of scamming families of famous South African who have passed on. Thabiso claimed that the singer would raise funds for the funeral from government and then pretend he did not receive enough.

The poet spoke to Tshisalive to refute the claims against him. He stated that he was not corrupt, that he spent his time fighting for the freedoms of the artists.

“…I am not a conman. I am not corrupt. I fought for these people’s freedoms and now the repay me by accusing me of being a scammer?” he said.

Mbuli is no stranger to accusations and he has dared his accuser to lay charges against him for their claims.

“I vehemently deny the claims and challenge him (Thabiso) to lay charges against me if he suspects that there was fraud. I am not above the law.”

He’s no longer going to be a part of Ray Phiri’s funeral arrangements.

“I am no stranger to silly accusations but because of this I think it is best if I stay away from Ray's funeral arrangements. I will just be a normal person and won't offer my assistance," Mzwakhe said.
