Drugs and guns were found after police conducted a search of the rapper's tour bus

Louisiana rapper Nelly was arrested on Saturday following a police search of his tour bus where drugs and guns were found.

The YBF.com reports that the reality star has been charged with a felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession.

The tour bus was stopped by an officer when he could not find  the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and International Fuel Tax Association (IFTA) sticker on the vehicle.

The trooper claims that he conducted the search because he could smell marijuana as the bus approached him.

Nelly wasn't charged with gun possession but numerous guns were found on the bus, his friend Brian Jones claims the guns to have been his.

The award-winning rapper was released on $10 000 (approximately R120 000) bail.

This is not Nelly's first run-in with the law, in 2012 stashes of marijuana, heroin and a loaded gun were found on his tour bus but his mate Jones, who was arrested with him this, weekend took the fall.
