New wave of student protests at the University of Limpopo

A showdown between students and the police has been taking place at the University of Limpopo as students shut down academic activity in the ongoing #FeesMustFall protest.

Students at the University of Limpopo have been protesting since Tuesday night.

Student leader Isaac Hlungwana has sent a strong message out the Minister of Higher Education, Blade Nzimande, saying they will keep their shutdown going until their demands for free education are met. Students have taken to social to expose the violent manner in which they have been man handled by the police. Students on the ground have confirmed that Tshwane University of Technology in Polokwane, Seshego FET college and University of Venda have joined the protest and also shutdown in solidarity with the University of Limpopo More details will follow on the ongoing student protest
